This year's crop of foals are a really nice bunch, see for yourself.
A long awaited colt by Bravado Ego Z (grandson of Baloubet du Rouet) out of Chakita (a TB/stationbred mare). This colt has superb jumping lines on his father's side with not only the grandsire Baloubet du Rouet (Selle Francais) being arguably one of the world's best jumping sires, but his dam's sire Carthago Z (Holsteiner) is also world class. Carthago Z himself is by Capitol I who is the sire of many top performers including Cassini. With a list of relatives like this and his dam passing on the strength, temperament and durability of the stationbred as well as the athleticism of the TB we a hoping for great things.
Bravo's coat is going a lovely dark palomino and he will be retained by the stud to further its breeding programme.
Casper's first foal for the season is a beautiful (not so little) filly out of Whirly, a WBx mare by Internet (outside mare). She arrived on time and without incident and looks a real nice type.
The last foal of the season for Rushmoor Stud has arrived. She is by Casper out of the lovely Landioso/Anamour mare Ava (see mare page). Monty (paddock name) is one of the biggest foals I have seen born. She is a rich buckskin, no white socks to clean but with a beautiful white marking on her face.
Monty is going to be a big girl and has some lovely bloodlines to boast about. Ava's first foal was a real nice mover so it is expected Monty too will inherit that trait and hopefully too the nature of her parents, an area where they both really excel. Monty has been sold to a lovely home in Tauranga and we wish her new owner well.
Another gorgeous foal by Casper out of the WB/Arabx mare Chelsea (outside mare). She looks a real looker with her bold white blaze and opposing stockings as I'm sure her owners will agree. Well done Chelsea - it was worth the effort!
