Finally we have some foals on the grounds and not without a bit of drama, but all doing well now.
Karamea is the first foal for the stud this year and more than a pleasure to welcome. She is simply beautiful with her four white socks and a blaze and pretty little girly features. Karamea is out of the Rohdinger/Anamour mare Rotterdam (see mare page) by Casper and the first of this combination so more than happy with the outcome.
I think with the top class breeding of Karamea's dam and her strong and steady sire lines Karamea should have a talent for almost anything.
Karamea has been sold to a most lovely hunting home in the South Island.
Kasala is another outstanding foal out of Ava (Landioso/Anamour, see mare page) by Casper. A very elegant, long legged filly with a broad blaze and one hind sock, Kasala looks just adorable. She is a very large filly (maybe because she took her time before making her arrival into the world), but I think it was well worth the wait.
Like all of Ava's foals Kasala has some top bloodlines to boast about. She already has the movement, the looks and is simply a really nice type. Kasala will be offered for sale on weaning.
This foal looks an absolute winner with his lovely solid build and brave markings. And ... as the name suggests ... a dun can! He is by Casper out of Trudi (an outside mare) who is a lovely hunting type mare. Both Trudi and Casper have outstanding temperaments and I am sure this young colt will be the nicest horse also. At this stage his destiny is on the hunt field but the world is his oyster so who knows. Well done Trudi and Casper.
Here is another fresh young foal by Casper out of a mare with Spanish bloodlines (outside mare). Looking like he's not quite sure what to do or even how to work those long legs I'm sure it won't be long before he is bouncing around the paddock causing mum concern.
