Well its been a remarkable year I'm sure everyone will agree, but now for something positive .... there are beautiful babies in the paddock - take a look.
My long awaited Irish sporthorse foal has finally arrived and I couldn't resist the name "Murphy", since I am up to the letter "M" for naming. Murphy is by Casper out of an Irish registered mare Tui Hills Celtic Mead (Te Mania Blue Fable/Jaguar). He's a striking looking colt with 3 white socks and an off centre blaze.
Murphy's dam Honey has been an absolute legend as a first time mum and dotes on Murphy. He is a bit of a shy boy at present, but I'm sure with his dam being more than friendly he will learn that the world isn't as scary as it looks.
This colt is humongous and had me quite worried before his arrival as his poor dam was near exploding. He arrived fat and well and way bigger than most, but has bounced up and is doing well. Midas is by Casper out of Jilly (Voltaire II/Witzbold) and has many older siblings performing exceptionally well ... big boots to follow.
Midas has lovely colouring with a big blaze and stockings on both front legs up to his knees. He is a very bold colt and not much seems to phase him. I am excited to see this one develop and expect him to grow into another giant as Casper often produces.
Well it seems to be the year of the palomino colt, even out of a bay mare. This mare is an outside mare and was an adorable mare to have here for her few weeks visit. And isn't her colt a stunner - 4 white socks and a blaze and causing quite a stir down in Auckland where he was born. We look forward to creating another colt (or filly) like this when mare and Casper reunite.
Its confirmed "tis the year of the palomino colt" and this one is oh so cute. McLaren is out of Rotterdam (Rohdinger/Anamour) by Casper and is just adorable. Lots of bling again with his 3 white stockings and big blaze and the cutest face ever.
Rotterdam, as per norm, foaled him on the other side of the fence but has finally decided on being reunited to be a good mum. And so she should, this one in my opinion is going to be absolutely gorgeous. He will be for sale once weaned so be in quick for the best of the pick.
