Rushmoor North Star

Am really stoked to be showing you this youngster who I have been following the progress of since he left here as a scruffy, winter coated weanling just a few months ago. Star (Casper/Eyreleigh Tir-Na-Og) is now 11 months old and attended his first show at Te Kauwhata A&P where he was awarded Champion Horse Young Stock and Reserve Champion Golden Horse Young Stock. Beautifully turned out and with much said about his brilliant behaviour, especially for his first outing, there is much here to be proud of.
Rushmoor Bravo

This beautiful boy is once again in the limelight after winning the reserve Champion Silver Novice and Reserve Champion Amateur Waitemata Rider at the recent Waitemata Dressage Championships. Despite the terrible weather and unfamiliar surroundings Bravo (by Bravado Ego Z) has gone from strength to strength winning against some very talented combinations and large classes. His rider should be very pleased having produced him from a newly broken gangly youngster.
Raffie

Raffie's owner kindly sent me a photo of young Raffie (Casper/Andalusian mare) now under saddle as a 4 year old. I don't know if its a vanishing distance trick of the eye but Raffie's owner looks tiny on board, although Raffie now stands around 16.2hh with plenty more growing so I think she is going to look even smaller in the future.
Whangarei A&P Show

I recently attended the Whangarei A&P Show for a bit of a look and was super proud to see two of the horses I bred competing there. Rushmoor Bravo (left) was awarded Champion Golden Horse hot from his recent success at the Bay of Islands Dressage Champs where he received Champion Novice Horse. Rushmoor Imposing (right) cleaned up in his ring winning four sashes in all from working hunter, riding horse and paced and mannered classes. Well done riders, a great accomplishment.
Rushmoor Livewire

Was sent this photo of Livewire (Casper/Rotterdam) by a very pleased owner who was having her first ride on her newly started steed. Its always a pleasure to receive feedback like this, especially when the horse performs so nicely and looks so stylish.
Rushmoor Imposing

Doesn't this horse look fantastic (Casper/Ava). Here he is at his debut show, the Bay of Islands A&P Show, winning nearly every class he went in and then on to receive champion novice riding horse and then champion open riding horse. Am really looking forward to seeing him out competing again, will be hard to top that result.
Rushmoor Nadia

The beautiful Nadia (Casper/Rotterdam) left for her new home today and will be keeping company with Nautica who left earlier in the season. The picture here shows Nautica on the left and Nadia on the right with a grand daughter of Casper in the middle, aren't they just gorgeous! Nadia is a full sister to Livewire below and is a stunning filly who I am really looking forward to seeing more of.
Rushmoor Livewire

Got sent an update by the owner of Livewire (Casper/Rotterdam) who is pleased with how she is turning out. Nearly a three year old now and about to go off to be started. And hasn't she gone a glorious colour, even she thinks so herself and is admiring her tan in the mirror.
Northland Spring Horse Trials

What a great shot with two of Casper's sons greeting each other at the recent Horse Trials. Beautifully turned out and both showing off their powerhouse booties. Good luck for the competition.
Rushmoor Jezebel
.jpg?timestamp=1668136717124)
Here's a picture of the lovely Jezebel (Rushmoor Bravo/Rushmoor Covergirl) competing at the Northland Grand Prix Show. She has been going really kindly and as you can see is showing plenty of scope. However, if you look closely her jockey is just about to be unceremoniously dumped on her neck when she lands as take off was more than a little awkward. Credit to her she managed to stay on!
Rushmoor Hot Shot
.jpg?timestamp=1667438099977)
Hot Shot (Casper/Ava) is back out on the circuit after a well earned rest over winter. We are so pleased with this mare, she is lovely to have around and showing a lot of promise over the jumps. This is her second season and she is making easy work of the smaller heights, time to go UP.
Raffie

Well not all the horses on this site are pictured leaping tall obstacles, some are just sitting around chillin. Meet Raffie who is by Casper out of an outside mare (Andalusian), quite the dude.
Ri Spiorad

If you are looking for a gorgeous, upstanding young prospect then this yearling colt might be the one. By Casper out of a Clydie/TB mare (outside mare) he has all the bling you could ask for as well as a lovely, proud profile that screams "look at me". He is for sale in the Waikato.
Zephyr

This is another lovely horse I saw for sale by Casper out of a TB mare. She is a full sister to Jasper (somewhere in my news page) and looks a really nice type. Winter is not a good time for palominos, or anything horsey for that matter, but they tend to lighten in colour and with a fresh clip it is hard to see her golden colouring at all, but just imagine her in her gleaming summer coat - gorgeous.
Rushmoor Evo

I was recently contacted by the new owner of this lovely horse (by Casper out of Mozzie, WB Valiant mare) to tell me what a cool horse he was. Although she sent me a picture of him in glorious health showing off his gorgeous golden palomino colouring I spied this picture in his album taken a few years earlier and thought it definitely needed sharing - it is stunning. I have to say I love receiving messages from happy owners of my horses.
Rushmoor Jezebel
Jezebel is finally out on the jumping circuit as a newly started 4 year old and showing good form at that. This is her first show/practice day where she impressed us all with her attitude and ability. Jezebel is by Rushmoor Bravo (Bravado Ego Z) out of Rushmoor Cover Girl (Casper/Voltaire II mare Jilly). And yes, I know, a different colour to the rest of the golden horses but two palominos can make a chestnut!
Rushmoor Nautica
The beautiful Nautica (Casper/Ava) is off to her new home in a couple of weeks. She is a stunning filly and moves superbly. Nautica is currently finishing off her halter training with exemplary marks. She has turned from a standoffish young foal into a friendly, calm and obliging weanling so fast it has surprised me. It is a very rewarding job training the youngsters when they are this trainable and smart.
Rushmoor Imposing
Its good to see this horse out competing again after a few months off. And straight back to it with some beautiful rounds at the final of the showjumping series for Northland. Leo is by Casper out of my Landioso/Anamour mare Ava and has just been a star since starting his career a little over a year ago.
Rushmoor Lexus ("Sassynach")

This beautiful filly is now for sale for some lucky new owner. She is by Casper and out of my Voltaire II/Witzbold mare Jilly and one of the best youngsters I have ever had the pleasure of handling. She was a dream from day 1 - calm, friendly and nothing was a bother, I wish they were all this biddable. Nachie is currently in the South Island if you are looking for a top youngster to bring on.
Oac

Spotted this stunning looking mare on TM who is by Casper out of a Pintado Desperado mare (outside mare). I've seen this horse over the years competing eventing and successfully at that. She is a lovely big mare who I'm sure anyone would be proud to have in their paddock. UPDATE sold within 2 days!
Rushmoor Hotshot
Well Hotshot (Casper/Ava) has finished her first season of showjumping on an awesome note. We are well pleased with this girl and how she has come on. She is now coverless, barefoot and out in the paddock for the winter. Bring on next season.
Rushmoor Kasala

Wow isn't this mare going great. It seems like just the other day she headed off to her new home, a young wide eyed filly and now look at her - broken in and making it look like she had been doing dressage all her life. Kasala is by Casper out of Ava so a full sister to Hot Shot and by the looks of it with the beautiful movement too.
Rushmoor Dazzle

I couldn't resist putting this picture in the news, its a beauty. Dazzle is by the previous stud stallion Disteldave (Distelfink) and out of my broodmare Lizzie (Voltaire II). She was sold as a weanling to the above rider who has carefully produced her as a dressage horse with much success. Keep up the good work .
Rushmoor Nadia
Well I've heard a double whorl is good luck so what about three? This sweet foal by Casper out of Rotterdam has quite the collection of whorls. Lets hope it brings her luck in bag loads.
Rushmoor Bravo
.jpg?timestamp=1643004448910)
.jpg?timestamp=1643004481543)
This horse is always impressive, not only in looks but in ability too. Here he is trying a little cross country schooling and clearly not taking any chances of knocking those jumps. Already an accomplished dressage horse it looks like we can add eventer to his profile too.
Rushmoor Juliet

If anyone is looking for their ultimate dream horse then this one may appeal. By Rushmoor Bravo (Bravado Ego Z, see above) out of Rotterdam (see mare page). She is currently based in the South Island and is on the market. Her owner has her looking $1m and I very much doubt she will be on the market long.
The Youngsters
Couldn't resist this lovely picture of our youngsters. From left to right we have Bella (2 years), McLaren (yearling) and Jezebel (4 years). All I can see when I look at them is 11 socks to wash in the future, better buy my shares in "lux flakes" now!
Rushmoor Galiant

This is a lovely looking gelding who I have spied recently for sale. He is by Casper out of Mozzie (by the selle francais stallion Valiant) which makes him a full brother to Heidi (see 2021 news page) and Evo above. Certainly nothing like the finer built foal I remember him as. Galiant looks a picture and is showing plenty of ability with it.
